12 Easy mood boosters
Monday, May 28, 2018Seriously great evidence-based coaching is designed to enable you to implement and sustain positive, life-enhancing change.
But sometimes life is travelling well: you’re clear on who you are; you know where you’re headed; and you have strategies for how you’re going to get there.
You just feel a little flat.
When The Blahs strikes, it can be handy to have a few mood-boosting tricks up your sleeve – to help restore your equilibrium.
So here they are, folks! A few ideas to help get you back on track:
+ Go to the markets and buy some beautiful ingredients [including something you’ve never eaten before]
+ Send some positive feedback for great customer service
+ Lie on your sofa and do nothing, even just for a little while
+ Do some exercise but not for fitness/weight…purely for joy and calm
+ Finish work early and go to the movies [choc-top essential]
+ Identify something around the house that’s been driving you crazy and fix it
+ Make a pot of tea
+ Buy a card, write a message, then send it to a friend who means a lot to you but you haven’t seen in a while
+ Pick up a great new book and go to bed early, to start reading
+ Call a friend who is unfailingly positive
+ Google funny podcasts then start in on one
+ Pack yourself a super delicious lunch for work tomorrow [something you’ll really look forward to]
+ Set up a holiday savings bank account and auto-debit plan
+ Donate [even a tiny amount] to a cause that really matters to you
+ Start a club: wine-club, book-club, walking-club, crafting-club, cheese-club. Anything to make you feel more connected.
The thing with mood boosters is that they work their magic in different ways, depending on the person. So have a think – do any of these grab you? What might suit you better? Maybe write a list! And stick it somewhere that you’ll easily be able to find, when you find yourself a little down.
Then pick one and give it a go get yourself back on track, in no time.
