A few things I’ve learned…
Thursday, July 14, 2022I’ve been coaching from an evidence-based for more than 12 years now [WHAAAT?!]
And along the way, I’ve learnt a few things. Here are some of them, in no particular order…
- When you have enough, more money really, really [really] doesn’t make you happier.
- Greater wellbeing tends to come from stuff like: not being under too much pressure; feeling healthy; having time with family and friends to relax and have fun; feeling part of something; being able to make a really tangible and positive difference. Often striving for more money actually gets in the way of these things…
- Everyone struggles with confidence – even the people who seem the most confident have moments of self-doubt.
- Small changes can make a massive difference.
- The most powerful shifts normally come from changing the way you make sense of what is happening.
- The concept of values is slippery and lots of people find it hard to identify their own.
- Online coaching works really, really well [dare I say, even better than in-person??!]
- People are generally, really good.
- Persistence is a key determinant of success.
- Evidence-based, solution-focused coaching really helps with making and sustaining positive, life-enhancing change.
