Create a Project
Sunday, March 20, 2016
One of the best things to do if you are feeling stuck [anywhere, with anything] is to set yourself a project. A cool one.
It needs a name. An excellent symbol. And a [non-negotiable] delivery date.
The project doesn’t have to be related to the stuckness at hand. For example: if you find yourself stuck in a relationship but struggling to end it, you might set up Project Inside/Outfit: to photograph every outfit that you wear for a month, and create a flip book. Or you could create Project LoveLetter: to write a note to every member of your extended family, telling them what they mean to you. Or Project Be Awesome: to do one kind thing for someone else every day for a week.
But the project can be related to your stuckness. Maybe if career is your challenge you could create Project Make Me Up: to practice your beauty skills on one person a week for three months. Or you might decide on Project Bandwidth: to interview one excellent band every month and post the interviews in a blog. Or you could focus on Project OnePagePlan: to create a one page business plan [you can find one here] by the end of the week.
Your project might not yield results that will lead you in the direction in which you think you want to head. But it will introduce some new element into your life. Which will encourage some [even slight] shift. Which will feel great.
[And which might lead to stuff that you’d never even contemplated.]
