Failure [redefined]
Monday, December 26, 2016Failing feels rotten.
And the reason it feels so bad is because we have conceptualised it that way – we have constructed it as something awful and uncomfortable, as something to be avoided at all costs.
What would happen if you re-cast it: as something to be embraced and maybe even cultivated? What would happen if you saw failure as a sign that you were being boldĀ and doing what it takes to live an extraordinary [on your own terms] life?
It is pretty much impossible to live brilliantly without feeling significant discomfort, at some point. So if a great life is what you’re aiming for, why not shift your understanding of failure so that it is something you welcome and maybe even…enjoy?
