kindness [in action]
Friday, February 6, 2015My Little One and I were walking last week and we stopped at the train station to train-watch. [Super fun! especially when the drivers wave back].
It’s a little, local station and just outside the gate was a homemade sign, printed on a computer then laminated, with care.
A note from a man called John who was searching for the owner of a dog. He had been at home recently, on the phone when he heard barking from outside. He realised that his own dog had escaped the normally-locked gate and was frightening another puppy. By the time he made it to his door, the other dog and its owner were already disappearing around the corner and he was unable to leave his house to follow them. He was wanting to find them, to apologise for any hurt done and to explain [but not excuse, he wanted to make clear] the incident. He offered his name and his phone number and asked the dog owner to be in touch.
One of my most favourite things in the whole world is people being kind to one another. This beautiful sign [and the thoughtful intention behind it] made my heart sing.
