living into
Thursday, February 18, 2010She spoke beautifully about uncertainty. About the discomfort it generates. About the natural inclination to alleviate the anxiety of not.knowing by embracing easy answers. (Answers that don’t necessarily encourage any greater understanding, or lead to any heightened truth.)
She suggested an alternative: living into the question.
And so, I have been playing with it this week. Questions have arisen. (and thoughts.worries.doubts.) But instead of staring them down, wrestling them, challenging them, struggling for answers or solutions, I have simply leant into them. I have lived into them.
The results have been gentler, kinder and far more expansive.
