more [ask for]
Wednesday, September 21, 2011Today, friends, the story goes like this:
I recently joined a gym.
I was there yesterday, doing a spin class. I was up the back. It had reached the point where it hurts and you sort of have forgotten why you were motivated to go in the first place and you’re really trying to find something (anything!) to keep those legs going so that you can walk out knowing you did your absolute very best but you’re really, truly, honestly, struggling. So, I was up the back, with my eyes sort of half closed, trying to find IT when the instructor said: Ask For More.
And bang! There it was.
[later in the day] it got me thinking. Maybe asking ourselves for more applies more broadly. Maybe in some situations, it’s all we really need.
And I wondered: how would asking for more, in this moment, look and feel? What might happen?
