morning
Saturday, April 3, 2010I am a morning person. I always have been.
I think better in the morning. I work better in the morning. I run better in the morning. And I drink coffee better in the morning.
In many ways, I am the best version of myself in the earlier hours. But I also reckon the world is a better version of itself, as the light seeps in.
It’s when runners look up as they pass each other, and smile. It’s when front.garden.waterers nod gently in the direction of dog.walkers. It’s when folk acknowledge each other. Look each other in the eye. And actually see one another. It’s when the world is as it should be.
But then something happens (at around seven). Eyes are averted, guards are raised and mistrust returns.
I wish that early morning lasted all day.
