owls
Friday, October 11, 2013ohmylordy. They’re everywhere, my friends.
Little owls with big eyes. Looking down on [or up at] me. In prams, in books, on dresses, in trees down by the river, in trees above cafes and last week, in a tree outside My New Friend’s house.
Someone told me that owls mate for life. That they find their Lovely One and then they stick together. And if one dies, the other one dies too. Isn’t that beautifully, ornithologically romantic? [I think it is].
The little.kid.in.me reckons that all these owls must be there for a reason: telling me something I need to hear. I’m not quite sure what yet but I am trying to figure it out.
In the meantime, I’ll be spending just a little more energy than normal focusing on my own nest, keeping my own Lovely One close and safe.
