patterns
Sunday, May 11, 2014Part of the work I do as a coach involves pattern identification. Seeing patterns in the way my clients are behaving or thinking or speaking and bringing them to light, to help facilitate positive change.
When you’re outside the system, (standing outside of someone else’s life, for example) it’s much easier to see those patterns. It is heaps harder to see them in your own world.
One thing that can help, is to notice patterns in the things other folk are saying to you.
Recently I realised that a few lovely people I know have been gently encouraging me to give myself a bit of a break. I hadn’t noticed the pressure I have been putting on myself of late (specifically: to achieve certain things before this delicious, new baby arrives).
Seeing patterns is just the first step [you then have to do something about it!] But at least it’s a start. Seeing differently allows you to do differently.
[love that].
