[peak] performance
Monday, June 4, 2012I went on a road trip yesterday, with My Lovely One.
[as you might know, a road trip is one of my most favourite things.]
We headed out to a little country town, which is home to a design shop that I wanted to check out.
First up (naturally) we had to find coffee. If I do say so myself, I have a nose for hunting down the.best.brew.in.town and yesterday, friends, my nose didn’t let me down! Deliciously good. Then a little wander. And finally an expansive space with concrete floors (love!) beautiful lines and inspiring pieces. I even picked up a little something for the newest, little person in my world.
What a great day.
Performance Psychologists suggest that high achievement requires a commitment to disciplined recovery. To operate at your best, more often, it is important to balance energy expenditure with energy renewal [to osciallate between exertion and relaxation].
And so, lovely people, if you look at it like that: my coffee/sun/design/love day.trip was actually fuel for my peak performance. Fantastic!
