Monday, September 25, 2017When I talk to my lovely life-coaching clients about values – one that comes up all the time is kindness.
The women I speak to are kind. Really kind.
And yet often, those same women also talk to me about the fairly brutal ways they treat themselves.
Being kind to yourself is an idea that’s thrown around all the time and I think we tend to think: yep, yeh, yeh, yeh, of course. And then we invariably go back to doubting ourselves [and berating ourselves for doing so], judging our bodies, making jokes at our own expense, holding ourselves back, keeping quiet, not nourishing ourselves blah blah blah.
I think it is helpful to consider self-compassion in real terms. To pinpoint some actual things you can do today, that will help you move towards being kinder to yourself.
