They are cool. French. They swagger [just a little]. They tell me they are graffiti artsists and that they would love to paint the wall of my house, my alley-way.

Curious: I had been thinking about asking a local artist to do just that. To create beauty. And here they are [just by chance]. They show me their stuff [jagged, angular] and I take their number.

Then a couple of nights ago [weeks later]: a knock on my door. It is freezing, pouring rain. They have done a sketch on the back of some wrapping.paper. The animation is different to their other work but it is still, clearly, them. It suits the house [they tell me]…and it suits you more too [they’re right].

Passion and vision: adjusted but uncompromised.
