Tuesday, February 14, 2012Walking is fantastic for difficult conversations. Something about your arms and legs moving gets your brain moving. And not sitting directly [read: awkwardly] opposite each other makes uncomfortable topics easier to tackle, too.
Car rides are the same. The body isn’t moving but the car is and for some reason, it helps ideas flow more gracefully.
Long journeys are also brilliant when there is nothing tough to talk about. Just all the stuff you haven’t had a chance to share with your Lovely. One [despite the fact that you both work from home, break together for coffee and meals, and commit to joint.procrastination with shared long runs on slow.day.afternoons].
My holiday break was lovely.
[The trip on either side made it even better.]
